1 Day: Printing Color and BW

Los Gatos, California

March 3 (9AM – 4PM) - SOLD OUT

8 participants

This workshop focuses on giving you feedback on your existing prints and improving your digital printing skills. Concentration will be on inkjet printing with color pigments and black/gray ink combinations on various papers. We will cover a variety of techniques and tools to help improve your digital files and prints. You'll leave with one great print and the knowledge you need to get the results you're looking for when you return home. You'll also leave with a vastly expanded set of possibilities for making images.

Discussions will include an exploration of print aesthetics in the digital age; what makes for a beautiful print? What can the latest printers and media do for you and your images?

Upon signing up for the workshop, you will receive a coursebook that includes printing tips, the software and hardware requirements, and what to bring to the workshop.

What you'll learn:
• Print reviews (focus is “what else can you do)
• Setting up your print environment (calibration, presets)
• Troubleshooting your printing process (dark, “muddy”)
• Post processing workflow (sizing, sharpening, saving)
• Paper selection (type, feel, profile)
• Outsourcing printing (preparing your file)
• How to immerse yourself in printing (not to be missed!)
• Leave the workshop with a new print (up to 30” width)

We are looking forward to meeting you at the printing and image reviews workshop.

Don't delay your registration, as there is very few sessions scheduled this year.
