1 Day: Wildlife

Sulphur Creek Nature Center, Hayward, CA

March 9 (9:30AM - 4:30PM) - SOLD OUT

(Register early as all sessions were sold out in the past)

Summary: Learn how to photograph wildlife including settings, capturing behavior, and making unique and exciting photographs. We will have an animal rotation of birds, mammals and MORE. Selection, and post processing (how to quickly evaluate keepers, workflow to post process image, how to prepare your file for printing) will all be discussed.

You will join professional wildlife and nature photographer Oliver Klink and fine art photographer Kate Jordahl during this workshop. The goal is to provide a memorable and exciting experience while gaining knowledge on how to photograph wildlife and go back home with one of your images printed.

We start at the Sulphur Creek Nature Center (1801 D Street, Hayward, CA 94507) and learn to capture astonishing wildlife portraits of birds, reptiles, and mammals. Animals are taken out of their cages and placed in a natural environment conducive to photography. You’ll learn the technical tricks to photograph these animals when they pose or move around.

Around noon, we’ll have a working lunch at PhotoCentral. We do recommend bringing a lunch sack or we’ll provide recommendations on where to buy sandwiches.

The afternoon is spent at PhotoCentral (1099 E Street, Hayward, CA 94541) learning how to post process your images and prepare your file from a print. We evaluate your images and post process one of your images. You’ll learn how to quickly rate your images, post process to bring out the best of your images, and then prepare your file for printing.

FOR THE PEOPLE ALSO JOINING THE ADVANCED WILDLIFE WORKSHOP ON SUNDAY, March 10 (9:30AM - 4:30PM)
On Sunday, we’ll have a few variations in the animal line up and you’ll have a one-on-one session with one to two animals. You’ll be able to move around freely, frame your image to your desire, and be assisted by either Kate or Oliver.
