HaidaGwaii
Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site, often referred to simply as Gwaii Haanas, is located in the southernmost Haida Gwaii (formerly known as Queen Charlotte Islands), 81 miles off the mainland of British Columbia, Canada. Gwaii Haanas protects an archipelago of 138 islands, the largest being Moresby Island and the southernmost being Kunghit Island.
In 1987, the first of its kind accord between the Haida First Nation and Park Canada was signed to protect the islands, its resources, wildlife, and heritage. It resulted in sites being declared as UNESCO world heritage and Natural historic site of Canada.
If you are interested in knowing more about this place and how to photograph it, I do have a workshop scheduled on August 12-20. We will be traveling by private charter boat and float plane. For more info, email oliver@incredibletravelphotos.com
Thanks ... Oliver.
