Costa Rica (December 2004)
We had the opportunity to spend three weeks in this neutral country of Central America. Many activities can be enjoyed from sunbathing on the West Coast to ecotouring the multiple national parks. Over 40% of the land is still protected.
We started in the Capital (San Jose) and participated in the Xmas festivities. Then our first stage took us to the Volcanoe region (Arenal, Monteverde). We discovered an amazing park, called Tenorio, still unknown to most tourists.
Then we toured the Caribbean side (Tortuguero Island) and the Pacuare River on an overnight water rafting trip.
Finally, we ventured to Corcovado National Park to spot the Costa Rican wild life. This southern part of Costa Rica is still prestine and uncrowded.
As they say in Costa Rica - "Pura Vida".
